Professionally

I'm a Motion Generalist with over a decade of experience across a wide range of animation projects. My work includes UI animations and mockups for apps and websites, story-driven character films, advanced templating for large-scale advertising campaigns, motion graphics, compositing, editing, generative image and video AI, and more.

Versatility has always been one of my biggest strengths. I'm happiest when I get to work on a mix of projects that challenge me in different ways.

Over the years I've had the privilege of working with world-known brands such as Coca-Cola, Netflix, Facebook, and Philips, along with many other famous brands. These projects have led to several award-winning productions, including a Daytime Emmy Award for our work on Netflix's Down to Earth with Zac Efron.

Personally

Born in '89 in the city of Nijmegen, raised between the rolling hills and forests of Groesbeek, a small town near the German border. A place I still live with my wife, two kids and our Australian shepherd.

My interest in (interactive) motion started in high school, when a little website called Newgrounds was immensely popular, and never really left. Through a winding path of graphic design, web design, development, and print, I eventually found my way back to what had sparked my curiosity in the first place: animation.

Outside of work, I'm still drawn to stories in all forms, whether through film, games, or books, and to worlds that offer a sense of escape or imagination. That same curiosity still shapes the kind of work I like to do and how I approach it.

Work Experience

Monks

February 2015 – Present

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science, I joined (Media)Monks, where I had completed my graduation internship. During my internship in the Rich Media department, I focused on Flash animation for interactive banners. Following this, I moved to the Animation department, where I developed into the motion generalist I am today. I initially worked on UI animation mockups for websites and apps, providing guides for developers, and gradually expanded into motion graphics and character animation, contributing to story-driven projects — including the Emmy-winning work on the Netflix documentary Down to Earth with Zac Efron. Over time, I also branched into 3D modeling and animation, and in recent years my focus has been steadily shifting toward AI-driven creative workflows.

During my HBO Communication & Media Design studies at HAN University of Applied Sciences in Arnhem, I worked at B302, a student-run media company where students take on real projects for actual clients. As Lead Designer, I focused on both digital and print design, managed a small team of designers, and collaborated closely with the development team to bring creative concepts to life.

February 2009 – June 2012

After completing the four-year MBO Level 4 Media Design program at ROC Nijmegen, I started freelancing as a web and graphic designer. I designed and built websites using HTML and CSS, and created interactive elements and animations with Flash. Alongside web projects, I also designed a variety of print materials, including magazines, posters, and booklets.
